We live in PRINCE GEORGE, BRITISH COLUMBIA, 786 km north of Vancouver.
Climate:
Chilly winters, with ice and snow. Average temperature minus 20 degree celsius,with extremes to approx. minus 35 celsius and minus 40 with windchill factor.
Average snow fall during winter - 233.8 cm. Summer temperatures - average around 20 degree celsius.
PRINCE GEORGE (PG for short) is surrounded by great spruce forests - a Hunters and Fisherman's Paradise with bears, moose, salmon, trout and pike. We are a thriving industrial city with a population of approx. 78,000. Our city has 3 pulpmills, a new university (opened in 1994 in person by Queen Elizabeth of England), a new Courthouse, new Convention Centre which hosts conventions such as Forest Expo with delegates of approx. 500 from 30 different countries. A new Icehockey Arena is the home of our beloved Prince George Cougars Ice Hockey Team - icehockey being the favorite Canadian sport.
